Traveling Fashionably

Next week is Thanksgiving, which means there is traveling & great meals ahead of us. I have a few tips to share that will assure you feel beautiful on your journey home.

Traveling well can be tricky, especially with delayed flights, airport security, and the terrible food courts. Isn't the confidence and beauty of this look exactly what you need?

First rule when it comes to traveling well: I have to say a big fat NO to Juicy Couture track suits. I know the desire for comfort when traveling, but let me assure you, there are better ways to be comfy & sophisticated.

My Mama always says, dress well when you travel; you never know if you might get bumped to first class. It has actually happened for me twice domestically and internationally, and I am certain I was not wearing a track suit.

Here are a few suggestions on how to be comfortable and feel beautiful.

Luggage: if you love the look of your luggage you are bound to feel good when you walk out your front door. If you don't have good looking luggage, here are just a few items I found on overstock.com.

Accessories
Beauty can always be found in the details, and any look can be pulled together with a splash of color.

The key to traveling well is eating well. Rarely do I eat in the food court because A. the choices are not great, B. you usually feel bloated after eating over salted/processed food, and C. you can bring your own. After years of eating in the food court I realized I could just bring my own snacks instead of feeling trapped by airport food.

I simply pack fruit, nuts, some cheese, and bread. I always drink water while traveling to keep hydrated. The kids love these choices, too.

Lastly, this is a tip I learned from Tyra Banks--this lady knows a few tricks herself. I learned ALWAYS carry chapstick or lip gloss & take two seconds to put on mascara. Your face will feel brighter with a dash of makeup then without.
