Chandelier Blues

When we apartment hunting in Berlin, we quickly realized that when they say it's an "unfurnished" apartment there really meant it!  As a courtesy, the landlord left us a single, forlorn bulb hanging in the kitchen, but otherwise there were no light fixtures anywhere in the apartment, so we had to come up with some solutions.

I loved our white walls throughout the apartment and was drawn to the idea of a fun burst of color as a little surprise for some of the hanging lights, so I found two (non-matching, but that's ok!) brass chandeliers at a local open air flea market and spray painted them, first with a primer for metal and then with turquoise.

This is such a fun, easy project that you can do to try out a color accent without painting your walls-- and you can always change up the color if you want to try something else!  Here are some fun examples of gorgeous blue lighting accents- aren't they fun?!
