DIY Tee-Pee

So, this weekend we are throwing a surprise party for our daughter S. What she is obsessed with are make believe stories involving indians, Tiger Lilly, pirates, and Neverland. When piecing the party together I focused on Tiger Lilly, and I hope we are able to re-create an indian village vibe.  So, I decided to make three tee-pees for the party. I looked all over pinterest for ideas and finally figured just to go for it myself, also enlisting a very talented friend (Jeremy Coleman) who works in an architecture firm.

WHAT YOU NEED

Rubberbands
Birch branches (6 pieces per tee-pee)
Tacs
Canvas Drop Cloth
Twine
Any extra decor you would like to personalize your tee-pee

UNO
Rubber band two pieces of birch together and then rubber band them all together at the top. Then twine the birch together to secure.

DOS
Then drape the birch with the canvas drop cloth, pin and secure the ends as you drape.

I wanted to keep the tee-pees with a natural look, so I didn't add too many frills.  Just a few twinkle lights, ribbon and green leaves. Stay tuned for more on our Neverland party!

Besos,

M

  2. The thing is it took 20 minutes max, and I know Sophia is going to go crazy for it. I think the cost was 20 bucks total since I used real birch instead of plastic bamboo.
