Picking Out Shades

Since the recent excitement over my new birthday curtains and seeing what a difference they have made in the dining room, I have been inspired to make some more decisions about window treatments around the house.  Next up is our kitchen window and maybe a simple roman shade, valance or cornice... Here are some ideas I'm liking at the moment.

These slouchy Roman shades have a more relaxed, unstructured feel that's unfussy and natural.

The next two photos show more Roman shades, but with cleaner lines and a more tailored look.

I also love the option of building a cornice for the top of the window, with fabric covering the wood frame.  This one is super crisp looking-- I love that design--but with cornices you can always make them more ornate if you're up for a challenge:)
