All summer I have been itching to do something dramatic to our upstairs guest room and hallway. So, last week on a day I had nothing planned I popped over to Home Depot for a little inspiration. Of course I left with a few items to change up our space.
While we were in Maine in August, I could not get our friends' New England painted floors out of my mind. While visiting friends, I was practically drooling over their floors and antique rugs. I wanted to channel the same look to our place.

So, what to buy? I looked all over the internet in the summer for tips and paint choices for floors. I read Elle decor, countless blogs, and Pinterest. In the end I asked an expert in the paint department and ended up with Porch/Outdoor paint by Behr. The fantastic news is you can select any Behr color and they will mix it with the porch/exterior paint. So, I was able to choose my favorite gray/blue shade.

I am so much happier with the space every time I walk up our stairs and see our newly painted floors. I was so pleased I took the paint downstairs……
Can you tell I am ever so slightly OBSESSED with the color combo? I am even wearing it!
