With Fall just around the corner, I have been busy organizing our apartment. I know come September, life will smack me in the face with all the TO DOs. So, I have an early start, at least before we leave for our family vaca.
Last week Jake and I were in Iowa with the kids on a family reunion. While I was there I picked up a couple of charming horse hooks. I love stopping in thrift shops wherever we go, and I always find a little something which is original to the destination and reminds me of our road traveled as a family.
The hook I found I knew they would be perfect for Sophia and H. They are the perfect place to hang their backpacks this fall. Yikes two babes in school!
The horses on their own needed a little love, since they are bit too rustic for my liking. So, I just grabbed a bit of Martha Stewart's metallic paint and added a finishing touch.

I love how they turned out. The horses faces are a bit more defined and so distinguished. Who wouldn't want to have a backpack here!
PS: Total Cost = 20.00 (not bad)

Mel, I LOVE, love, love those horsehead hooks! What a great find! And you really spruced them up with the metallic finish. Great job.
