Happy Friday Everyone! We are staying cozy here in NYC with a blizzard coming our way. I must admit I love a good snowstorm, or any excuse to stay home and work on a few homey projects. Earlier in the week when we were experiencing extra chilly weather I stayed in and finished up our ongoing entryway project. We had old purple carpeting that was coming up. I was never a fan of the carpet, so I began to pull up the edges and found it simple to pull most of the carpet up. Underneath I found old beautiful wood floors. They are a bit beat up, but I like them so much more then the old entryway carpet, which was totally random. I was not able to finish all the carpet removal on my own, so our handy-man came in and finished the job. I love how it all turned out. Again, this was such a simple project, but sometimes it is just the little touches that make a BIG statement.
What did we add after we removed our yucky carpet? I simply added a natural fiber door mat, cleaned the floors and organized our boots. I love the burst of red from Sophia's Hunters, not to mention the kids' art that just adds the right amount of POP. You can buy the art hangers at Ikea for 5 bucks.
