What would a Thanksgiving weekend be without going to the movies? After all the wonderful food, wine, and shopping, I had a moment to enjoy the film Midnight In Paris.
Isn't Marion Cotillard a dream?!
After the film I began thinking about my own attraction to the Golden Age of Paris in the 1920s.
Some may say the film was indulgent; I found it to be completely satisfying, especially with characters such as Ernest Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Picasso, & Cole Porter.

The aesthetic of this supper exudes warmth and life.
J Crew and Anthropologie have tapped into the desire to live a romanticized life in which we live and breath beauty. They have cleverly branded themselves by selling the idea of a classic femininity rooted in the beauty of the 1950s & 1960s.
The clothing is classically designed with a respect of the past, yet allows you to live beautifully into your present.
I suppose I am a hopeless romantic drawn towards pretty things & enjoy integrating idealism with my reality. That is why I will continue to buy flowers that will eventually die, set a table that will soon be messy, and dress up, even though it is risky behavior with a 20 month old by my side.
So, if you're like me, you will love Midnight In Paris!
