Last week I took my kids to the MET here in NYC, with the intention of going straight to the Egyptian exhibit. On our way we stumbled upon the "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations." I was so pleased!!! I even promised the children chocolates if they would be patient and walk through the entire exhibit before heading to the mummies.
If you are in the area, this exhibit is a MUST see. The book is definitely on my wish list. What a fabulous Wednesday inspiration. I just love getting into the heads of true creatives that are so focused in their execution, you will be truly inspired.
There are seven areas of focus; Waist Up/Waist Down, Ugly Chic, Hard Chic, Naif Chic, The Classic Body, The Exotic Body, and The Surreal Body.
Waist Up/Waist Down
The jackets are designed by Schiaparelli while the skirts are by Prada. Following this exhibit there is a feature of "Neck Up/Knee Down," featuring hats designed by Schiaparelli & shoes by Prada.
Naif Chic
Naif Chic
Classic Body
The Exotic Body
The Hard Body
The Surreal Body
And MY personal favorite " UGLY CHIC"
I LOVED the graphic printed green sweater and tweed skirt & jackets. Every bit of Ugly Chic is to die for. These photos via The MET are great, but do not compare to how fabulous these pieces look face to face or in the book. I say, if your ever in New York or live near by the MET is a must.
Get Curious,
Mel
